Official Calibration Standards for CloudSpec™
The CloudSpec™ Calibration Standards are the original calibration standards developed for use with the CloudSpec™ instrument and the CloudSpec™ Recalibration App. They are designed to ensure accurate, reproducible instrument performance over time.
Each kit provides sufficient material for five complete recalibrations, supplied in single-use vials to minimise cross-contamination and improve calibration consistency. Each order includes a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
A typical CloudSpec™ instrument is expected to require recalibration approximately four times per year. Instruments with more intensive usage may require more frequent recalibration. Compatible with all CloudSpec™ instruments.

FAQ
Why do I need the CloudSpec™ Calibration Standards?
CloudSpec™ instruments require periodic recalibration to maintain measurement accuracy over time. The Calibration Standards ensure that the instrument’s optical response remains correctly aligned, enabling reliable and reproducible results. Without recalibration, gradual instrument drift may impact quantitative accuracy.
How do the Calibration Standards work?
The Calibration Standards contain defined optical densities across four reference points. During recalibration, the CloudSpec™ Recalibration App measures these standards and adjusts the instrument’s internal calibration curve accordingly. This process ensures the instrument’s absorbance measurements remain accurate across its operating range.
How do the Calibration Standards fit into my workflow?
Calibration Standards are used periodically (typically ~4 times per year) for planned instrument maintenance rather than daily operation.
The Calibration Standards are to:
- Reset and verify instrument calibration
- Maintain long-term measurement accuracy
- Support consistent quantitative output over time
